DiVad's Box Office Weekend Report: Nov. 2-4

THE TOP FIVE REPORT

Hello fellow tentacles, DiVad here with the box office weekend report of Nov 2 -4. 'American Gangster' busted a cap in the competition and shot it's way up to number one this weekend with an estimated 46.3 million dollars.

The Denzel Washington/Russel Crowe/Ridley Scott crime drama epic is now the best opening of both Washington and Crowe's career to date. 'Bee Movie' landed in second place this weekend with 39.1 million in the bank. Not too bad, but these day it's not too special of an opening for a high profile animated movie. 'Saw IV' gets chopped down to 3rd place at 11.1million bucks. With any luck the studio will just quit while they're ahead (the 'saw' franchise is turning into the Jason and Freddy franchises for me. Just one after another same shit new number) The Steve Carrell drama 'Dan in Real life' hits 4th place with 8.1 million dollars. And '30 Days of Night' sucks enough cash to hang in at 5th place with 4 million buckaroos.
